О снеге в Гудаури

thanks for your answer! the thing is that of course we booked cheap tickets, so a cancellation means loose all the money for the ticket. i was thinking of looking for alternatives. svanetien seems to be one. i cant find a lot of maps or something and i am not sure what the snow is like at the moment. can you recomend a page where i can learn more? 

we are 8 guys coming from austria, would have come only for freeriding. really dont know what to do.

Write to it! Ksenia lives in Svanetiya, she is the owner of mini-hotel, knows everything about snow. At this forum you can find it here. It publishes photos from Svanetiya. She writes that now there a snow layer not less than one and a half meters.

Скажите пожалуйста хоть кто-нибудь .... есть ли хотя бы одна подготовленная трасса для катания.... то что работают подъемники и так видно по вебкамере. а вот о состоянии трасс ничего не известно.... то что они не идеальны и так ясно... но можно ли хоть по одной из них нормально спускаться.... просто мы 20 приезжаем ..... а уверенность никакой.

Go to Mestia then, i dont see other option for you. Check out also site gudauri.travel, there is some info about mestia in english. 

There is enough snow there, around1,5 meters now. But as a freerider myself i would like to warn you that you must clearly understand - the place is not very developed yet and thus i dont know whats the situation with rescue etc. In Gudauri it is well organized ( i've tried how rescue services work myself:) but in mestia i dont know.

С Кудеби и с Садзеле катать как раз нельзя )))))) 

Народ, а просветите меня плиз , первый раз еду -  разве нет мест, где можно побэкантрить?  судя по отчетам и фоткам, там можно найти отличные места, прогулявшись немного :)

Дело не в ленточке. Можно, конечно, шкрябаться по имеющимся 40 см снега, и называть это катанием. Но в Гудаури ездят, в первую очередь, за фрирайдом на снежных полях. А до этого пока как до луны. Конечно то, что есть лучше, чем то, что было, но настоящий снег в этом году, похоже, будет только ближе к марту (если вообще будет).
